The compound plate is a 2-layer steel sheet; it combines highest hardness and wear resistance of the top layer with the weldability of the carrier plate.
Very hard carbides with a hardness of more than 70 HRC are deposited in the top layer. The carrier plate made of steel can be welded. Layer thickness can be between 3 mm and more than 20 mm depending on the stress.
You may choose from different alloys according to the stress to be expected. A.S.S. compound plates can be warped and welded. They are cut by plasma or water jet cutting.
The replaceable, screwable auger flights considerably reduce the expenditure on repair.
